  • Processing satellite, aerial, and drone data for cartography and geo-information production;
  • Continuous satellite monitoring of the Earth's surface, infrastructures, worksites, urban dynamics, and marine coastal areas to support decision-making and operational activities
  • Designing and developing Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) for geospatial data archiving, management, and sharing
  • Creating real-time geo-location solutions using positioning systems such as GPS/Galileo/GNSS and indoor location systems
  • Developing software for satellite on-board data and image processing and ground segment infrastructures.


The Challenge of a "Geoservices Technical Specialist - Protected Category Under Law 68/99" at Planetek Italia

As a Geoservices Technical Specialist, your mission will be to develop innovative applications and services to support geospatial and remote sensing projects.

This role requires understanding remote sensing data processing using EO/GIS software or developing custom tools.

We seek self-motivated individuals with a proactive, "can-do" attitude who can thrive in a dynamic and demanding work environment.

Your Background:

  • Basic understanding of GIS and EO concepts, including projections, data management, formats, and metadata.
  • Foundational knowledge of GIS and EO techniques for processing and analyzing geospatial datasets, particularly satellite-derived imagery.l.
  • Experience or coursework with EO/GIS software applications, such as ERDAS Imagine, QGIS, and ArcGIS.
  • Familiarity with scripting programs and spatial libraries, particularly Python and R.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and partners.
  • Some experience or coursework in preparing publications, technical reports, or technical offers for tenders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to applied techniques and processes.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English is essential.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in documenting and managing project tasks to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of assigned projects.
  • Support project/task/deliverable reviews to maintain technical quality and product delivery.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals for tenders.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering reports on time.
  • Communicate and coordinate with various stakeholders and partners to support project activities.
